20060319 Azusa byebye
Azusa was one of my best friends here. We had a lot of fun together, especially last term. She is kind and warm-hearted and makes every effort around me. I really appreciated getting to know her and never took her for granted. She is now on her way back to Japan. For her last night a few of us went out for a meal to a famous restaurant she always wanted to try. The food was this crazy mix of seafood and veg. It was then followed by a spicy soup with a huge fish head in it. Seaweed soup was also served and that was the best part. I’ll miss you Azusa.

Another random set of photographs. This set includes unusual pictures taken in the hospital restaurant (which is a lot tastier than it sounds); my language partner covering her eye in attempt to escape the camera; fun pictures of tea and biscuits; Minyong pulling a cute face; more tea and faces; a picture of three of us in a club before we were told to put the camera away; finally a bunch of pictures of some Korean friends I made, taken while we all went bowling.
200603019 World cup stadium
I had just finished exams and went to meet Yejin. She is one of my language partners but recently she has become a close friend. She decided we should go to Seoul World Cup Stadium and play instead of doing language exchange, so that’s exactly what we did.

20060312 Class coffee
It’s incredible the amount of fun fear you can cause by simply holding a camera up in a room of students. “Ah I don’t photograph well,” they cry. “I hate pictures,” they moan. “Wanna die?” they threat! Anyway I took a bunch of shots and did get some poses and as well as some more natural shots. I also took some with my language partner in a coffee shop. The place is pretty cool, the walls are covered in books and the chairs are large and comfy. We often go to some sort of coffee shop to study. It’s nicer than the plain walled study areas in the language building. Next week she wants to speak in English in preparation for her interviews. She will be applying for jobs were she can use English language. I threw in a few pics of the choas we draw on the blackboards in the break too. I often tag the boards with Reptaro. People associate it with me now which was the idea. Ah exams continue tomorrow.

20050308 Immigration
One day after class I randomly got dragged along to the immigration office. I thought we were going to study somewhere. I mean usually it’s cool to check out a different venue to study in, rather than the usual coffee shops we hang out at. However, by the time I realised where we were going it was too late to turn back. So to make some joy of that misfortune I thought I’d document the trip with photographs but as you’ll see, that really didn’t happen and I ended up taking really random pictures. I guess they tell some sort of story though. See if you can make something of them.

20060307 Killer Kimichi
Another selection of photographs that don’t fit into any particular set. Pictures include: The random sight of some crazy British soldier costumes; song practice in the classroom with everyone looking a little shy; various coffees from various coffee shops; my language partner and I posing in a coffee shop; a Chinese friend who I can never steal a picture of and just barely got her this time; and a group of four girls who are all shockingly 22 years old. When they asked me to guess their age I was way off thinking some were as young as 16.
20060307 Nore Contest
Every term there is a competition for each classroom on a particular level. This term our challenge was to organise a song contest. Each class had to pick a Korean song, learn the lyrics, practice singing it, and come up with some sort of dance. It was a lot of fun since most classes put a lot of effort in and came up with great shows in a very short time. My class however were not so good. We couldn’t communicate well at all in practice and ended up a singing a song that was way too difficult (hence us reading the words on stage). Our dance was basically us swaying side to side. However, it proved to be good entertainment because people thought we were that bad on purpose. Unintentionally helped by one of our classmates who poured his heart and soul into the song, while completely killing it because of his terrible but confident voice.
