07.01.30 Life » No time to blink

I’m having one of those weeks where I have a lot of things to do but not enough time to do them. On top of that my class mates seem to want to throw our teacher out or at least complain enough until someone does something.

The main problem that arouse in the last few days was that me and my room mate failed to read the contract for our room properly. Actually we are supposed to move out today. It was a huge problem because for a start we hadn’t packed anything or sold off some of our electrical appliances. It’s the little problems that give you stress though. For example I hadn’t cancelled the internet subscription. Someone has to come to collect the modem and I wasn’t sure if I had to give notice. However, after calling a few wrong numbers I eventually got through to a someone who give me a number for an English speaking customer service employee. I called her and she was really cool about everything. She said she’ll cancel the internet and if I leave the modem with the security guard they’ll send someone to pick it up. Another problem is that my new accommodation starts from Wednesday but I’m supposed to leave today. So I went to see my estate agent and he is letting me stay here two more days but I have to pay two days rent unfortunately. Also I went to my new place today and they kindly let me leave some stuff there for when I move in. Actually I was a little surprised that they still haven’t prepared the room yet. They haven’t put in any storage facilities. So I hoping it’s all ready when I move in on Wednesday.

On top of all of this I have an exam on Wednesday too. It’s 40% of my speaking grade so I need to do quite well. Basically I’m going to present a 15 minute speech about Wales. That’s not such a big deal as I can wing that side of it if I learn some relatively important vocabulary. The kick in the teeth is that I have to hand in an illustrated written version in good grammar. It takes time to type it up and format in some pictures etc. In times like these I just want to go and hide in a hole but the promise of a good weekend is keeping me going!
